The Manduca Organic Baby Carrier
It’s 5pm – the witching hour. Your oldest is back from school, your toddler is nearing meltdown stage and of top of this your newborn refuses to sleep and will NOT be put down.
You have two choices:
- Clone two spare arms (A possibility but as sleep deprivation has rendered your four-year-old’s maths homework impossible, advanced biology may be beyond your reach)
- Invest in a Manduca Baby Carrier.
Over to NBS’ founder, Victoria: “I cannot recommend this carrier enough. It has been my saviour with my 3rd child. Lola is so happy in it while I make dinner, pack lunches & do all the other things required with the two older kids. I was worried that it did not have a forward facing position, but she just peers out happily from the side and when she is tired just drops off. I can wear it for long periods with no discomfort. I love it!!”
As it’s 3-in-1 this carrier is great value..
- From birth, it’s a front-carrier with your newborn held safely by the built-in infant pouch.
- From approximately three-months-old, the pouch material is folded away & your Manduca can be used as a front or hip carrier.
- From six months until 20kg it can be used as a baby back carrier, so it really can be used long term.
Here is Manduca fan, Sarah, carrying her 3-year-old daughter. Proof that you really can make use of the carrier until 20 kg. Sarah said she found it very comfortable, and Jemima was absolutely delighted! They are pictured at the bottom of a very long and steep hill which they then climbed, really putting the carrier through its paces! Jemima fell asleep…
Here’s how it works: Manduca Babywearing Tips
In the Manduca your little one is carried in the all-important M position: knees above bottom for good hip development. It’s made from made from organic cotton and the zippers and snap-fasteners are all nickel-free, making it safer for teething chewers.

Yes, I have other carriers. But, not one of them could I use from newborn to toddler. My friends with an Ergo swear by it. I have been listening through two children. Now I know I want to add this to my ‘mom bag of tricks’.
